On Friday, March 28, at 1:00 PM, as part of the ERASMUS+ project Digitcreshe (https://digitcreshe.eu/), a webinar-lecture will be held, dedicated to the latest advancements in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine, with a special focus on hadron therapy for cancer.
The presentation will be delivered by MSc Ivan Knežević, a PhD candidate and research associate at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Mediterranean. The lecture will highlight the benefits of AI in enhancing the quality of medical imaging, automated tissue segmentation, and intelligent treatment planning, all of which contribute to more precise targeting of tumor changes and the protection of healthy tissue.
Additionally, the speaker will discuss the SEEIIST (South East European International Institute for Sustainable Technologies) project, which aims to develop hadron therapy centers and multidisciplinary research in Southeast Europe. The presentation will showcase how AI complements innovative radiation methods using heavy ions and protons, enabling faster and more efficient patient preparation and real-time therapy adaptation. The lecture will also explore future directions in AI development and its role in advancing oncological treatment on a global scale.
