The Student Parliament of the “Mediterranean” University, pursuant to the authority referred to in Article 10, paragraph 1 of Student Parliament’s Statute on calling for elections for the Student Parliament of the “Mediterranean” University (hereinafter: the Student Parliament), shall adopt:
DECISION TO CALL FOR THE ELECTION FOR THE STUDENT PARLIAMENT
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018
I The Student Parliament Elections for the 2017/2018 academic year are being announced
II The elections are held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 08:00 to 14:00
III The Student Parliament if formed from student representatives from all organizational units of the University, in accordance with the rules of the Student Parliament’s Statute.
The parliament of each organization unit is obliged to choose:
- President of the Student Parliament
- Ombudsman Student – Protector of Student Rights
- A Representative of the third year, for each study course, that is if the Faculty has courses in basic studies
- A Representative of the second year, for each study course, that is if the Faculty has courses in basic studies
- A Representative of the first year, one representative for all years
Specialist studies may also have their representative.
IV All students of the “Mediterranean” University have the right to apply for the Student Parliament. The application is made in a manner that the student concerned sends the basic information about himself and the remark for which function he is applying to the following email: sparlament@unimediteran.net
V The President of the Student Parliament for each organizational unit is elected by the majority vote. Representatives are elected strictly by the students, and their choice is not within the competence of the Management Board Members at any level. Functions at the University level will be put to the vote after the elections of all units, at the very first assembly of the Student Parliament of the University.
VI The election for the Student Parliament of the organizational units is conducted by the University Electoral Commission. If only one student is to apply for a position, that student will be appointed to perform the same.
VII The Decision is published on the University website, as well as the websites of all the involved Faculties and the bulletin boards.
VIII The decision becomes effective on the day of its adoption.
In this way, we appeal to students that only those who are willing to fully commit to the function of Representative consider candidature, seeing as this is the best way to continue the good cooperation between students and the University Administration and the organizational units, along with being the best way to fight for the realization of student rights and requirements.
