The very first Medical Tourism portal was created within the MMT IS – Montenegrin Medical Tourism Information project. It is a portal where patients can find all the crucial information regarding medical institutions and accommodation capacities in Montenegro, which provide patients with a chance to be better informed and therefore get better health treatment and quality medical services.
There on the portal one can find 915 medical institutions and 362 hotels and apartments. Besides the already mentioned register of medical institutions and accommodation capacities, the portal also has basic information about Montenegro and the local tourism organizations.
Portal users are provided with a unique register search as well as a peculiar location display, and all information is available both in our language and also in English.
The realization of this project can have special significance when it comes to patients from abroad. Namely, the prices of medical services here in Montenegro are considerably lower than those in European Union countries, and the very existence of such a portal allows greater visibility and better availability of information regarding medical services, especially when it comes to this target group.
The project is mostly financed by IPA funds, and besides “Mediterranean” University’s Faculty of Information Technology which is the bearer of the project, other parters include NGO “ZON – Znanje,obrazovanje i nauka” and Bild studio.
