HMI2MARKET continues to connect academic knowledge, technology, entrepreneurship, and the concrete needs of industry, with a focus on human–machine interaction, robotics, embodied AI, and a human‑centered approach within Industry 5.0.
In the previous period, the project made a significant step forward from ecosystem building to practical application. Through various activities, partners engaged students, researchers, startups, companies, technology parks, and innovation communities, all united by the goal of developing HMI solutions that contribute to safer, more inclusive, and modern work environments.
The results so far confirm strong interest and wide reach. Three hackathons were organized, attracting more than 410 applications from participants across 53 countries, while over 1,250 learners completed HMI2MARKET modules via the online platform.
Hackathons played a central role in connecting participants with real technological and industrial challenges. The 48H Robotics / Europe Embodied Hackathon focused on robotics, embodied AI, and deep‑tech solutions. The AGRI‑BOT Hackathon explored the use of autonomous robotics in precision agriculture, including crop monitoring, pest detection, and smart farming. The STP Belgrade Hackathon – ReDesign R&D for Her was based on a real company challenge and human‑centered design, with a strong emphasis on inclusive and market‑oriented solutions.
Beyond hackathons, HMI2MARKET partners continued to advance learning and engagement through interdisciplinary activities, practical digital skills, and stronger connections between students and industry. Highlights included the Hybrid Launch Event by YET in Thessaloniki, the SSST Poster Presentation, the ETF Robotics Workshop dedicated to hands‑on work with AI agents, and the Robotics Learning and Exchange at FSB, which linked robotics with industrial systems, advanced manufacturing, and international collaboration.
The next major phase of the project will be the Learning Factories. This format will combine online learning, company and ecosystem needs, mentorship, and practical teamwork on real HMI challenges. The aim is to provide students, companies, startups, researchers, mentors, and other ecosystem actors with opportunities to develop and test ideas in real‑world settings. Additional information and announcements about Learning Factory activities are expected from September.
